Possible way out of the Hawking paradox : Erasing the information at the horizon
نویسنده
چکیده
We show that small deviations from spherical symmetry, described by means of exact solutions to Einstein equations, provide a mechanism to " bleach " the information about the collapsing body as it falls through the aparent horizon, thereby resolving the information loss paradox. The resulting picture appears to be consistent with the Lan-dauer's principle in the presence of a gravitational field.

How fast can a black hole release its information ?
When a shell collapses through its horizon, semiclassical physics suggests that information cannot escape from this horizon. One might hope that nonperturbative quantum gravity effects will change this situation and avoid the ‘information paradox’. We note that string theory has provided a set of states over which the wavefunction of the shell can spread, and that the number of these states is ...
متن کاملan Application of the Logit Model to the Analysis of Informal Sector Activities
This paper reports on the results of a research carried out during 1993-94 aiming at studying street sellers as an informal sector activity and a source of socio-economic problems in Shiraz, Iran. This study makes use of two Logit models in order to present a unified framework depiciting the factors that seem to affect the developmeht of informal sector activities. The first model looks at thos...
متن کاملThe information paradox: A pedagogical introduction
The black hole information paradox is a very poorly understood problem. It is often believed that Hawking’s argument is not precisely formulated, and a more careful accounting of naturally occurring quantum corrections will allow the radiation process to become unitary. We show that such is not the case, by proving that small corrections to the leading order Hawking computation cannot remove th...
متن کاملA Secret Tunnel Through The Horizon
Hawking radiation is often intuitively visualized as particles that have tunneled across the horizon. Yet, at first sight, it is not apparent where the barrier is. Here I show that the barrier depends on the tunneling particle itself. The key is to implement energy conservation, so that the black hole contracts during the process of radiation. A direct consequence is that the radiation spectrum...
متن کاملBlack hole evaporation along macroscopic strings.
We develop the quantization of a macroscopic string which extends radially from a Schwarzschild black hole. The Hawking process excites a thermal bath of string modes that causes the black hole to lose mass. The resulting typical string configuration is a random walk in the angular coordinates. We show that the energy flux in string excitations is approximately that of spacetime field modes. Th...
